Scan and itemise
Point your camera at a receipt, or share a photo or PDF. Handler reads each line item and suggests a category.
Handler for iPhone
Scan a receipt and Handler reads every line, files it, and reminds you before the return window closes. It all happens on your iPhone, in an encrypted database only you can open.
No account. No ads. No tracking.
Household admin, handled
Handler keeps the receipts, warranties and statements that pile up at home, and tells you when one of them needs attention.
Point your camera at a receipt, or share a photo or PDF. Handler reads each line item and suggests a category.
Return windows, warranties, lease and policy renewals, and subscriptions, counted down on your Home Screen.
There is no Handler server to send your data to. Your records live in an encrypted database on your iPhone.
Scanning
Handler uses on-device text recognition to pull out the merchant, date and each line item. Apple Intelligence suggests a category for every item, and the choices you make are never overwritten.
Upcoming
Handler keeps a single list of everything with a deadline, so a return window or a renewal never slips by unnoticed.
Spending
Import the CSV, OFX or QFX file your bank already gives you. Handler previews it, skips duplicates, and shows where the month went, by category.
Built for iPhone
Say “Scan a receipt in Handler” to Siri, or ask to see what's coming up. Turn on Spotlight if you want your documents to be searchable, and leave it off if you don't.
Privacy
Handler is built so that your financial life stays on your iPhone. The app's own tests fail if anyone adds code that talks to the network.
No. Handler has no sign-in and no Handler account. Open the app and start scanning.
Not directly. You import the statement file your bank already lets you download (CSV, OFX or QFX). Handler never asks for your banking password.
Handler's database is encrypted with a key that never leaves your device, and it is deliberately left out of iCloud and device backups. That keeps it private, but it also means your Handler records can't be restored onto a new iPhone. Keep the original receipts for anything important.
Handler uses Apple Intelligence for on-device categorisation, so it needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence.
It's Apple's privacy-preserving cloud for Apple Intelligence. Handler can use it to finish categorising items the on-device model couldn't, but it's off until you turn it on in Settings. When it's on, only text such as a merchant name and line description is sent. Images, amounts and account details are never sent.
Handler is in development and isn't on the App Store yet. Pricing hasn't been announced. This page will link to the App Store when it is.
Handler is coming to iPhone. Until then, have a look at how it handles your data.
